Clients
Who can sign-up for a Helping Women Now appointment?
These appointments are open to any woman or non-binary individual who lives in Canada. You do not need to be a current or past client of a Canadian Dress for Success affiliate. We do not accept clients who identify as men at this time.
Can I register for an in-person appointment?
At this time, all appointments are virtual and take place online from a secure online video conferencing website called Google Meet. You are not required to download any software to your device (phone, computer, tablet, etc.) before your appointment.
If you are looking for an in-person appointment, there may be a Dress for Success affiliate near you! Check out which location is closest to you here.
Are these private sessions?
Yes! These are private and confidential virtual one-on-one calls you will be having with a trained volunteer on your topic of choice. Any personal information shared is kept private, confidential, and is protected under our Privacy Policy.
Please note that Helping Women Now volunteers and services are not trained or licensed counsellors and cannot offer legal advice. Our services do not replace licensed advocacy and crisis services. If you are in immediate danger, call 9-1-1 or for less urgent cases, refer to resources such as those listed on the Government of Canada’s website.

Volunteers
I already volunteer with a Canadian Dress for Success affiliate. Can I volunteer for Helping Women Now?
Yes you can! Connect with your affiliate’s Volunteer point-person so they can work with you to begin the application process. Once we receive the initial information, we can start to onboard you!
Is there an age requirement to volunteer?
Eligible volunteers must be 18+ and have some professional work experience. We ask that those looking to volunteer as a Career Specialist submit a resume or summary of related experience.
